Xbox Game Pass August 2026: Plan Around the E-Day Beta and August 15 Exits

Xbox Game Pass’s August 2026 wave includes the Gears of War: E-Day open beta from August 6-10 for Ultimate and PC Game Pass, while four games leave on August 15.

The August 6-10 Gears of War: E-Day Early Access Open Beta is the month’s least flexible Game Pass event. It is available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, not every subscription tier, and includes Horde Siege, a new PvE mode built around larger scenarios and more players. Download it early rather than leaving installation, account checks, and matchmaking to the final weekend.

That beta arrives in a busy opening stretch. Beast of Reincarnation, a day-one release for Ultimate and PC Game Pass across Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC, landed on August 4 alongside Heretic + Hexen. The latter is also part of Game Pass Premium. August 6 adds Monsters Are Coming! and PowerWash Simulator 2, making the first week better suited to sampling new releases than committing to a long campaign.

The next cluster begins August 11 with Bounty Star, Date Everything!, and Grounded 2 in Game Preview. Ball x Pit follows August 12; Cricket 26 and Mio: Memories in Orbit arrive August 13; and Egging On is scheduled for August 18. Game Preview labels matter here: Grounded 2 is an in-development build, so players should not assume its feature set or progress rules match a finished release.

The more urgent deadline is August 15, when Atlas Fallen, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, Firewatch, and PC-only Menace (Game Preview) leave the catalog. Firewatch is the practical first finish because it is the shortest single-player commitment. Groups should schedule Aliens: Fireteam Elite sessions before the cutoff, while Atlas Fallen needs an immediate start if its larger action-RPG campaign is the priority. For Menace, check whether your preview save is worth preserving before access ends.

Before installing, confirm the tier and platform shown for each game in the Game Pass app; prioritize E-Day by August 10, then clear any August 15 departure you do not intend to buy.
