Easy Delivery Co.: How to Find cat.wav and Unlock Its Secret

FinalBoss·6/8/2026·7 min read

If you have been hunting for cat.wav by tearing apart MK’s house, sweeping for a hidden computer, or worrying about your ending order, you have been chasing the wrong leads. cat.wav is not a hidden item or an ending-gated puzzle. It is a radio broadcast: a single Morse-code transmission that plays on one frequency from one tower you can only reach with the right tires.

The short version

  • Where it lives: cat.wav plays on radio frequency FM 88.1, broadcast from the Fishing Town radio tower near Smalton.
  • How to reach it: that tower sits in the middle of a frozen lake with no road to it. You need ice chains to drive out and activate it.
  • What it is: a Morse-code message that decodes to an image of a cat – a developer Easter egg, not a gameplay reward.
  • What it is not: it has nothing to do with MK’s house, the Hydro Dam computer, or your choice of ending. Those are separate secrets.

What cat.wav actually is

Easy Delivery Co. puts you behind the wheel of a kei truck as a cat courier, hauling packages across three regions – Mountain Town, Snowy Peaks, and Fishing Town. Tucked into that world is a custom radio you can tune as you drive. Most stations play music. One does not.

Tune to FM 88.1 and instead of a song you hear cat.wav: a Morse-code transmission. That signal is the entire secret. It is not a quest, not a collectible, and not a key to a hidden ending. It is a broadcast you have to physically drive to within range of, which is exactly why so many players never stumble onto it by accident.

Where the cat.wav signal comes from

The 88.1 broadcast originates from the Fishing Town radio tower, located in a frozen lake near Smalton. It is the only radio station in the game that is not connected to a roadway – there are no bridges leading to it. You drive out across the ice to reach it.

This also means cat.wav overlaps with the game’s radio-tower hunt. There are four radio towers in total. The story only forces you to activate three of them; the Fishing Town tower is the fourth, and activating it is what completes the Radio Towers achievement. By design it is the last tower you turn on – the other three must be active first. So getting to cat.wav and finishing the radio-tower achievement are the same trip. For the full layout of all four, see our radio tower guide.

How to reach the Fishing Town tower

The tower sits in open water that has frozen over, and there is no bridge. The only way out is across the ice, and that requires the right grip on your tires.

  • Fit ice chains, not just snow tires. Snow tires get you around Snowy Peaks, but the frozen-lake route to this tower needs ice chains. You buy them at the Ez Auto in Clifton (Fishing Town).
  • Activate the other three towers first. The Fishing Town tower is the final one in the sequence; turn on the towers in Mountain Town and Snowy Peaks before this one so the achievement chain completes cleanly.
  • Drive onto the ice toward Smalton. The station is isolated in the middle of the lake. Head out across the frozen surface to the tower and activate it.
  • Tune to FM 88.1. Once the tower is live, the 88.1 station carries cat.wav. That is the transmission.

What the Morse code decodes to

The Morse-code signal on 88.1 translates to an image of a cat. Players who transcribed it landed on the hex sequence 0020494F757F7E4A – rendered as text it reads roughly “IOU~J” – and converting that to binary draws out the picture. The community consensus is that it is a personal developer Easter egg rather than a clue that unlocks anything else in the game.

That is the honest payoff: cat.wav rewards curiosity, not power. There is no weapon, truck upgrade, or stat behind it. Its value is the satisfaction of decoding the only Morse station in a cozy delivery game – and, conveniently, finishing your radio-tower achievement on the same drive.

Don’t confuse it with the other secrets

A lot of the confusion around cat.wav comes from mixing it up with two genuinely separate secrets in Easy Delivery Co.

  • The Hydro Dam computer is a different thing. There is a hidden room in the Dam with a computer holding a secret message, reached by going between the 4th and 5th shelf to find the path down to MK’s computer. That is its own puzzle – it is not how you find or decode cat.wav. We cover it in the Hydro Dam computer walkthrough.
  • Ending order does not gate cat.wav. To collect all three endings on one save the order is Reboot → Shutdown → Restore (doing Shutdown first locks you out of Reboot, and the Restore ending closes the factory). That matters for the endings – walk through them in our hidden endings guide – but cat.wav is a radio broadcast and is reachable regardless of which endings you have done.

Common mistakes

  • Searching MK’s house for a file. cat.wav is a radio signal, not an item you pick up indoors.
  • Using snow tires instead of ice chains. Snow tires won’t carry you across the frozen lake. Buy ice chains at the Ez Auto in Clifton first.
  • Looking for a road to the tower. There isn’t one. The Fishing Town station is the only tower with no connecting roadway – you drive across the ice.
  • Activating Fishing Town’s tower too early. It is meant to be the last of the four. Turn on the other three first so the achievement completes.
  • Worrying about ending order. Endings have their own correct sequence, but they don’t lock or unlock cat.wav.

Practical takeaway

Buy ice chains at the Clifton Ez Auto, activate the three mainland radio towers, then drive across the frozen lake near Smalton to the Fishing Town tower and switch it on. Tune to FM 88.1 and you’ll hear cat.wav – the Morse-code broadcast that decodes to a cat image. That single trip both reveals the secret and finishes your Radio Towers achievement. The Dam computer and the ending order are separate puzzles; don’t let them send you looking in the wrong place.
