You can see Anchorpoint Station talked about everywhere, but the galaxy map gives you no search bar and no obvious route to it. The station sits in the Algorab system, far out on the edge of charted space, and getting there comes down to two things: a grav drive that can make the jump, and knowing to do the final approach from inside the system rather than from the starmap.
Starmap and enough discovered nearby systems to plot a path outward. If Algorab is visible but the route stays red, the game is telling you your ship cannot make the final leg. Visit a Ship Services Technician → View and Modify Ships and upgrade your grav drive, or swap to a ship with a higher jump stat before trying again. Until you clear the ~27.25 LY mark, knowing the location perfectly will not help.
Open the galaxy map and zoom out to the widest possible spread of systems. Move your cursor down and to the right. Algorab is one of the last visible systems in that corner, which is exactly why most players miss it on the first pass — they pan around while still half-zoomed and never reach the edge.
Treat it as a corner search: full zoom-out first, then trace the lower-right quadrant slowly until the system name appears. There is no built-in system search to skip this step, so visual navigation is the intended method.

Even after you spot Algorab, you usually cannot jump there in one move. That does not mean you are in the wrong place — it means the trip has to be chained through intermediate systems your ship can already reach, stepping outward toward the bottom-right edge of the map.
Use this confirmed chain as your authoritative path:
A shorter chain — Cheyenne → Alchiba → Zelazny → Algorab — hits the same key systems and can work if those stops are already discovered on your save. (Note the system is spelled Zelazny, not “Zalanzy.”) The exact contiguous order of this shorter path is not independently confirmed, so if a jump refuses to plot, fall back to the long route above, which is.
When plotting, do not lock yourself into matching one chain exactly. If a system is undiscovered or out of range on your save, look for a nearby alternative that keeps you moving toward Algorab. Starfield is flexible about the path, but not about your grav drive’s range ceiling — if the line stays red, upgrade the ship instead of forcing the map.

Ultimate Guide Strategy Guide + Weekly Pro Tips
Reaching the system is only half the job. Players expect a direct station jump from the galaxy map, and that is not how it works here. Once you arrive in Algorab, open the local system view and select Anchorpoint there — it sits in an inner orbit within the system, not out on the galaxy chart.

Anchorpoint sits far enough out that Starfield will not let you snap to it instantly. After selecting it in the system view, drop into Cruise Mode and let autopilot carry you through the final approach. Once you are close enough, the station docks like any other location — the awkward part is the long in-system travel, not the docking itself.
If you do not see a docking prompt the moment you arrive in the system, that is normal. Select the point of interest, close the distance with Cruise Mode and autopilot, and only dock when you are actually within range.
Anchorpoint is a real named starstation in the Algorab system — not a rumor, a mod-only marker, or a mislabeled planet waypoint. The challenge for most players is finding and reaching it at all, not surviving an encounter once they arrive. There is no boss fight here; the difficulty is entirely in the navigation.
If you came for the station’s contents, the main draw is on the inside — including a locked safe puzzle. We cover that separately in our Anchorpoint safe puzzle solution and 5 clue locations walkthrough, so have that ready before you start poking around.

The whole trip is a ship-check plus a navigation trick. Get a grav drive near 27.25 LY, zoom all the way out and find Algorab in the bottom-right corner of the Starmap, chain jumps along the confirmed Alpha Centauri → Olympus → Volii → Bolivar → Alchiba → Zelazny → Marduk → Algorab route, then finish the last leg from inside the system with Cruise Mode and autopilot. Do that and Anchorpoint docks like anywhere else.
