The Blood of Dawnwalker Console Modes: 60 FPS Patch Update

Update — September 6, 2026: Rebel Wolves subsequently announced a day-one patch adding a Performance mode targeting 60 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X. The earlier version of this article described the initial 30/40 FPS announcement; that advice has been superseded. See our updated launch-patch explanation.

Console players should check that the launch update is installed before comparing modes. Performance targets 60 FPS; Balanced targets 40 FPS; Quality targets 30 FPS on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X. These are developer targets, not a claim that every scene holds a locked frame rate.

The initial console presentation covered Quality and Balanced modes. Rebel Wolves changed its launch commitment on August 24 and announced the additional Performance option. The developer’s announcement is also reproduced in VGC’s report.

Console modes at a glance

A 120Hz display presents a 40 FPS target with even frame pacing. Choose Balanced if that tradeoff suits your display and preferences, or compare the patched Performance mode if responsiveness matters most. Actual image quality and stability can vary by scene and patch; this article does not provide measured benchmarks.

PS5 Pro has the same announced frame-rate targets as PS5 and Xbox Series X, with additional visual enhancements. Xbox Series S has a separately announced 30 FPS target; do not assume it has the same three-mode selection.

You no longer need to choose PC solely because the initial console announcement lacked a 60 FPS mode. Update the game, compare the available modes on your console, and use the current patch guide before making a purchase decision.
