Why Rerolling Matters (And How Long It Really Takes)

After burning a couple of hours on bad early pulls in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, I finally settled on a clean reroll route that reliably gets me to the first proper 10x Draw and result screen in about 8-12 minutes per attempt on mobile. That still isn’t “fast” by gacha standards, but it’s manageable if you only want one or two good starts.

This guide walks you through exactly how I reroll:

  • Start on an unlinked guest account
  • Rush the mandatory intro and early quests to the statue objective
  • Claim all early draw tickets and bonus codes before pulling
  • Do your 10x Draw and quickly evaluate the result
  • Delete the guest account in Settings > Accounts and repeat if needed

If you follow the same shortcuts and skip habits I use, you can keep each reroll cycle under about 15 minutes, with my average hovering around 10 minutes once I knew the route.

Should You Reroll At All?

Before diving into the steps, it’s worth being honest about whether rerolling is worth your time in this game.

  • Time cost: Around 8-15 minutes per attempt once you know the route. The first couple of attempts will be slower while you learn it.
  • Pulls available: You’re basically rerolling around the early 10x Draw from the statue objective, plus a few extra standard tickets from rewards and the welcome origin code (as of launch).
  • Long-term pulls: Over time, the game gives a lot of gacha currency just from playing, events, and story.

My personal rule after testing: aim for any SSR early and then just play. Chasing a “perfect” double-SSR start didn’t feel worth the hours it would take, especially with balance patches and future banners on the horizon.

If you’re okay investing an hour or two to land one good SSR carry, keep reading. If you hate redoing tutorials, you may be happier accepting your first decent account and progressing normally.

Step 1 – Start as an Unlinked Guest Account

The breakthrough for me came when I realized that linking my account (Google, Apple, etc.) too early made resets a huge pain. You want to stay on a pure guest account while you’re rerolling.

  • On first launch, choose Guest (or equivalent) instead of linking to a platform account.
  • Let the game download its data fully – you won’t have to redownload this every reroll as long as you don’t clear app data.
  • Skip any optional login or link prompts during the intro. You can link later once you’re happy with your pulls.

Do not link the account until you’ve rolled a start you want to keep. I lost one good reroll by absent-mindedly hitting a link prompt, which then made resetting much more annoying.

Step 2 – Rush the Tutorial and Statue Objective

Your goal in this step is simple: get through the unskippable intro and first missions as fast as possible until you unlock the statue objective that awards the initial 10x Draw Tickets.

On my Android phone, once I knew the path and dialogue, this segment consistently took about 6–9 minutes per cycle.

  • Skip what you can: Tap the skip button on cutscenes whenever it appears, and spam-tap the screen to advance dialogue quickly.
  • Follow only main markers: Ignore side chests, side quests, and exploration distractions. Run straight toward the yellow/primary objective markers.
  • Auto-combat where possible: Once the game allows, you can toggle auto-combat on simple encounters to clear them quickly, but manual control is still usually faster for the very first fights.
  • Equip tutorial SRs fast: At one point you’ll be prompted to equip early SR characters/weapons (often Slater, Tor, or similar). Just follow the on-screen menu prompts without overthinking stats – this step is mandatory to advance.

Eventually, the story steers you to an objective involving a statue. Completing the tasks around this statue is what unlocks the early 10x Draw Ticket reward that makes rerolling possible.

Time-saving tip: The first time you play, pay attention to which NPCs you have to talk to and which areas you must visit. On later rerolls you can run straight to them without hesitating, shaving off a minute or two each loop.

Step 3 – Claim All Free Tickets and Use the “welcome origin” Code

This is where I initially messed up. On my first couple of rerolls I was so eager to pull that I hit the 10x Draw as soon as it unlocked, then realized I’d left a bunch of free tickets and code rewards unclaimed.

Before you do any gacha pulls, do a quick sweep:

  • Tutorial rewards: Open your quest rewards/tutorial tab and claim everything you’ve unlocked. Some give extra standard draw tickets.
  • Mailbox / gifts: Check the in-game mailbox or gift box. Launch-week bonuses and pre-registration rewards often include more draw tickets.
  • Redeem the launch code: As of launch, the code welcome origin grants extra standard summons (reported as 5 pulls). Look in Settings or Options for a Coupon, Redeem Code, or Event tab and enter it there.

Depending on current events, you can usually end up with the guaranteed 10x Draw plus a handful of extra singles. Some runs I started with up to around 16 standard tickets total after grabbing everything.

Important: If you’re speed-running rerolls, get into a rhythm: menu sweep → claim all → code entry → straight to the banner. The menuing becomes almost muscle memory and only adds 30–60 seconds once you know where everything is.

Step 4 – Choose the Right Banner and Do Your 10x Draw

Once the full gacha menu opens (after the “fake” tutorial pull is out of the way and you’ve equipped your gear), you usually have access to a standard banner and at least one rate-up banner.

From my runs and current tier lists, these are the early priorities:

  • Meliodas: Versatile high-damage SSR, strong both in single-target and AoE. Great as a main DPS and future-proof for a lot of content.
  • Jericho: Powerful DPS with strong burst potential. Great if you prefer an aggressive, fast-clear playstyle.
  • Diane / Deianne: Durable frontline units with good utility; they make the early game safer and scale into harder content.
  • King (SR): A solid SR early on, but I wouldn’t reroll specifically for him. If you pull King plus any SSR, that’s a nice bonus.

My usual approach is:

  • Spend the main 10x Draw Ticket on whichever banner features one of those desired SSRs on rate-up (often Meliodas early on).
  • Use leftover single tickets on the same banner to maximize chances of hitting your target.

Don’t forget you can usually skip the pull animation to save time. It’s fun the first time; on your tenth reroll, it’s just burning seconds.

Step 5 – Decide Fast, Then Delete Your Guest Account

Once the dust settles from your pulls, make a quick judgement call. To keep reroll cycles short, I always decide within 10 seconds whether I’m keeping the account or resetting.

  • Keep the account if: You pulled any SSR (especially Meliodas, Jericho, Diane, or Deianne), or you pulled multiple strong SRs and you’re tired of rerolling.
  • Reroll if: You got zero SSRs and only middling SRs, and you still have patience for another 10-minute loop.

If you’re rerolling, here’s the reset method that worked 100% of the time for me on mobile:

  • Open the main menu and go to Settings.
  • Navigate to Accounts or Account Management.
  • Select Manage Linked Accounts. Even as a guest, your current session shows up here.
  • Choose the option to Delete Account or Reset Guest Data.
  • Confirm all warning prompts. This wipes your current guest account and its progress.
  • Completely close the app (swipe it away from recent apps).
  • Relaunch the game; you should now be prompted to start fresh and can select Guest again.

From there, just repeat Steps 2–5. Once you’ve done a few runs, you’ll probably have the tutorial section trimmed down closer to 8–10 minutes per attempt.

Warning: Double-check that you are still on a guest account before deleting. If you accidentally linked a platform account, deleting or unlinking may work differently and could impact more than just this reroll attempt.

Who to Aim For and When to Stop Rerolling

Because each reroll is relatively slow in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, I set my expectations lower than in most gachas. After experimenting, here’s the standard I’d recommend:

  • Ideal outcome: Meliodas + any extra SSR or strong SR (King, Jericho, Diane, etc.) – fantastic start, absolutely keep.
  • Very good outcome: Any one top-tier SSR (Meliodas, Jericho, Diane/Deianne) – keep and move on.
  • Acceptable outcome: Any random SSR plus at least one useful SR – still a strong early boost.
  • Reroll-worthy: No SSR at all, unless you truly don’t care about min-maxing.

Personally, I stopped rerolling once I got Meliodas plus a decent supporting SR in under an hour of attempts. Beyond that, the opportunity cost of replaying the intro started to feel worse than just progressing and earning more pulls from gameplay.

Keep in mind that balance patches and new banners will eventually shake up the meta. An SSR that feels “okay” now could become stronger with future buffs or better team synergies, so don’t tunnel-vision too hard on a single character.

Extra Time-Saving Tips for Each Reroll Loop

These are small optimizations I picked up after several cycles that made rerolling less painful:

  • Lower graphics settings: On mid-range phones, dropping visual settings in Settings > Graphics reduced loading stutters and shaved a bit off my run time.
  • Disable unnecessary tutorials: If the game lets you opt out of repeat explanations on later runs, always do so. Some pop-ups only appear the first time, which is a nice hidden time-saver.
  • Stick to one control layout: Don’t waste time fiddling with custom controls or sensitivity during rerolls; just adjust once on the run you decide to keep.
  • Memorize enemy placements: Knowing where early mobs spawn lets you pre-aim skills and clear fights faster, especially in manual control.
  • Skip curiosity: It’s tempting to explore the beautiful open world, but each detour adds up. Tell yourself exploration starts after you lock in your SSR.

Summary: A Practical Reroll Plan You Can Stick To

To recap the full loop I ended up using in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin:

  • Start on an unlinked guest account.
  • Rush the intro and main quests straight to the statue objective.
  • Claim all tutorial and mailbox rewards and redeem the welcome origin code before pulling.
  • Spend your 10x Draw Ticket (and extra singles) on the banner featuring top SSRs like Meliodas, Jericho, or Diane/Deianne.
  • If you don’t pull any SSR, delete the guest account via Settings > Accounts > Manage Linked Accounts, close the app, relaunch, and repeat.

If you keep cycles under 15 minutes and set a clear stopping point (for example, “I’ll reroll for one SSR for up to one hour”), rerolling becomes a focused pre-game project instead of an endless grind. Once you’ve got that early SSR carry locked in, link your account, settle into your build, and enjoy actually playing through Britannia instead of just its opening minutes over and over.
