PC and console games are losing ground and will only account for around 36%, while VR/AR games are expected to account for approximately 1% of total market share revenue.
However, to make these video games work properly, it is necessary to have high-performance gaming smartphones on hand. But while it remains relatively easy to choose between a games console, it is quite another when looking for the best gaming phone.

Thanks to Apple’s teams, which master the design and optimization of its processors from start to finish. This new iPhone 14Pro is a powerful smartphone capable of running everything without flinching.
We also appreciate its almost foolproof energy efficiency, allowing you to use your phone for gaming without worrying too much about autonomy.

We appreciate its almost foolproof energy efficiency, allowing you to use your phone for gaming without worrying too much about autonomy.
If there is one thing that hasn’t changed compared to the previous generation, it’s charging.
Apple still doesn’t offer more than 30W charging power; you have to settle for 26 W maximum. This allows you to regain full autonomy in about 1h30 – which is not fast compared to high-end models on this list.
Undoubtedly one of the most complete iPhones to date, which will give you entire satisfaction… if your budget allows it.
On paper, this new iPhone 14 looks a lot like the iPhone 13, which retains both the design and the vast majority of technical characteristics, starting with a 6.1-inch Oled screen and the A15 Bionic chip launched in 2021 on series 13.
However, the chipset relies on six logical cores and five graphics cores – one more than on the standard iPhone 13 (also under A15) and with 6 GB of RAM, this performance will let you play Call of Duty mobile quite easily.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
Flagship among flagships, the Galaxy S22 Ultra stands alone in Samsung’s new series.
The S22 Ultra ranks in the behemoth category with its 6.8-inch panel. The use of a gaming phone case is highly recommended.
Its screen benefits from characteristics expected on a terminal of its category, starting with an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. It is indeed an Amoled LTPO panel which allows this variation. Let’s add that the screen displays up to 1440 x 3088 pixels but that Samsung activates by default a Full HD + definition (2316 x 1080 px), which consumes less energy.
The maximum brightness of this panel is one of its main assets.

How to Select a Gaming Phone?
To choose the right gaming smartphone, we advise you to follow several elements to make your purchase:
- The power
- The screen
The power of a gaming smartphone is the essential element to be able to run games with the best possible quality.
To date, the most powerful chipset is the Apple A16 Bionic fitted to the iPhone 14 pro.
In parallel, we have the RAM, which is also very important. It helps to make greedy applications work better while giving the possibility of opening more apps in the background. The minimum for a good gaming phone is 8 GB of RAM, but the best configuration is to have 12 or even 16 GB of RAM.
The screen of a gaming smartphone is just as important to enjoy games’ graphic quality fully.
First, there is the size. We strongly advise you to opt for a large enough screen. You will be able to visualize the controls more precisely while more easily perceiving the useful details in a game (like enemies in the distance in an FPS, for example). We prefer a screen of at least 6 inches for a gaming smartphone, preferably 6.5 inches or more.
The display frequency is also fundamental to having a fluid image.
For this feature, we strongly advise you to take at least a phone with a frequency of 90 Hz, but at best with a 120 Hz screen.
As for the display technology, it greatly influences the overall image and colour quality.
The top in the field is the AMOLED, or even the Super AMOLED, which we recommend.
