Byakue punishes you for playing him like every other boss. Parrying doesn't work well here — the whole fight opens up once you switch to deflecting. This is the full kill on Action, the highest difficulty you can pick on a first playthrough. The short version: deflect his axe strings instead of parrying (hold guard, press attack as the blow lands — L1 + X on PS5), don't swing back after the first deflect because he keeps going, dodge the shoulder charge instead of trying to block it, and save The Two Celestials for after he's hit you — the souls they pull back are your heal.
