Henrietta’s Hideaway – Rescuing Rococo Walkthrough | Hogwarts Legacy

Finding and rescuing beasts is one of the most fun things to do in Hogwarts Legacy. Whether they are thieves in the night waiting for someone to catch them, or villagers’ companions like our dear Rococo, it’s time to take out of Nab sack and go on a mission.

Rescuing Rococco is one of the most complex optional side quests in the game, so follow along to find out how to solve the puzzles and catch the little Niffler in need.

How to find Henrietta’s Hideaway?

There are two side quests that will lead you to Henrietta’s Hideaway:  The Hippogriff Marks the Spot, and Rescuing Rococo. In this case, I want to save Rococo and to do so, we’ll begin by traveling to Bainburgh in Manor Cape. Agnes Coffey, a vendor there, seeks help in locating her lost pet and offers a reward. Once you agree to assist, follow the map to where the Niffler was last seen.

The quickest way to reach the location is to mount your broom or Highwing and fly down to the castle ruins sitting at the southeast side of Manor Cape. The place will be marked as Henrietta’s Hideaway, so it won’t be too difficult to locate.

Upon arrival, you’ll face a choice: confront a group of Ashwinders guarding the area or attempt to pass them discreetly using the Disillusionment Charm. Should you opt for battle, be wary of Dunstan Trinity, an Infamous Foe.

The tricky part is finding the entrance to the cave, which will be located on the right hand side of the Merlin Trial. Go down the stairs and enter the cave to start your first puzzle.

Henrietta’s Hideaway First Puzzle

Welcome to the hideaway! To move forward, you’ll need to find the second cube since the first one is already in place. Start by using Revelio to spot the hidden cube on your left, tucked behind a statue. Once found, ignite the bowl at the statue’s base with Incendio. This will make the statue pivot, revealing the cube.

Now, grab it using Accio or levitate it with Wingardium Leviosa and put it in its designated spot. You will notice that the cubes are marked with either fire or ice. Use Incendio or Confringo on the left cube and Glacius on the right one, and presto! The wall behind them will slide open.

Next, prepare to face a room full of Ashwinders. Sneaking past them is not the best solution, so get ready for a fight. After defeating them, head up the stairs across from the entrance.

How to get past the moving floor in Henrietta’s Hideaway?

So, you’ve climbed up and tried to walk through the hallway on the right hand side only to get swallowed by a sneaky secret wall that spits you back out where you started. This part of the puzzle was infuriating and took me way more than it should have. But to spare you the annoyance, here’s what to do: take out your wand and, if you’ve advanced enough in the game to unlock it, cast Arresto Momentum on the floor.

The other option is to find an object such as the burning basket and use Accio to bring it towards the wall. When the floor captures the object (or even an enemy if you drag it close enough), it creates a brief window for safe passage where you can walk over it without trouble.

How to find Rococo in Henrietta’s Hideaway?

The final puzzle piece involves locating Rococo. Once you’ve dealt with another gang of Ashwinders, you’ll spot a second set of missing blocks from their designated space. The first block sits on the left balcony, so use Revelio to reveal it and employ Wingardium Leviosa or Accio  to maneuver it back into place.

You’ll notice a pin directing you towards the right wall.

Move in that direction to uncover a hidden passage leading to a room housing the second cube. Before grabbing the cube, there’s a Musical Map on a nearby desk. Taking it triggers another side quest called ‘Solved by the Bell,‘ but for now, our focus remains on the cube.

Once again, use Wingardium Leviosa to transport the cube upstairs through another secret passage back into the main room. Position the second cube and activate them with Confringo or Incendio and Levioso to unlock the door concealing the Niffler.

Prepare your Nab Sack and cast Revelio to locate the critter. With some luck and by utilizing Arresto Momentum or Glacius, slow down Rococo and safely stow him away in the bag. Proceed to the room’s end, gather as much gold as you desire, and be sure to open the chest for additional loot. Step onto the podium facing the statue, and you’ll be whisked back to the entrance of Henrietta’s Hideaway, where you initially solved the first puzzle.

That’s it as far as the Rescuing Rococo quest goes. You are free to head back to Agnes Caffey in Bainburgh and collect the Niffler Fur-Lined Hat and 180 XP or just keep Rococo. I’m a sucker for Nifflers, so I just kept him and angered the vendor. But you do you boo!
