Resident Evil Requiem: How to Unlock Every Weapon – Story & Special Content

Resident Evil Requiem: How to Unlock Every Weapon – Story & Special Content

FinalBoss·3/3/2026·12 min read

Why a Weapon Location Guide Matters (From Someone Who Missed a Few)

After spending my first 20+ hours in Resident Evil Requiem bouncing between Grace’s stealth runs and Leon’s action-heavy sections, I realized I’d walked past several of the best guns in the game. I even finished my first playthrough without ever touching the W870 Police shotgun, just because I didn’t turn around after a cutscene.

This guide is the reference I wish I had from the start: every weapon and weapon mod I actually tracked down, with exact locations, plus the post-game Special Content unlocks and their PC (Completion Points) costs. I’ll separate story-obtained weapons from purchasable unlocks, and I’ll flag the spots that are easy to miss so you don’t repeat my mistakes.

How Weapons Work in Resident Evil Requiem

Requiem splits its arsenal between the two protagonists:

  • Grace leans into stealth and precise pistol work, with a very compact weapon pool.
  • Leon gets the bulk of the guns: multiple shotguns, SMGs, and rifles, plus some heavy hitters unlocked later.

There are three main ways weapons show up:

  • Story weapons – automatically given or placed along your critical path (but you can sometimes walk past them if you’re rushing).
  • Pickups in the world – on tables, in containers, or dropped by bosses.
  • Purchases – from Leon’s supply boxes using credits, or from the Special Content menu using PC (Completion Points) after you finish the game once.

Completion Points (PC) accumulate as you finish the story and complete in-game records/challenges. Once you clear the main campaign, you can spend those in Main Menu → Special Content to permanently unlock new weapons for future runs.

Below, I’ll start with Grace’s limited but important arsenal, then move through Leon’s far bigger loadout, and finally cover all the Special Content weapons with their PC costs.

Grace’s Weapons and Where to Find Them

Grace’s Starting Revolver (Requiem) – Your Default Lifeline

Grace starts with her own revolver (often just called the Requiem revolver) early in the Care Center section. It’s auto-granted as you progress through the story, so you can’t miss it. I’m not counting it as a “location” in this guide because you don’t need to hunt it down, but it’s worth knowing this is your baseline sidearm for most of her segments.

Even once you pick up her other pistols, I found myself swapping back to the revolver when ammo types were getting low, just to keep my more specialized guns topped up for tougher fights.

B934 – First Pistol Pickup (Rhodes Hill Dining Room)

Zone: Rhodes Hill
Character: Grace

This is Grace’s first “found” pistol and the one I almost sprinted past the first time because of the tension in that area.

Location: In the Dining Room of Rhodes Hill, right on the floor in the middle of the path. As you move through the room as Grace, you’ll see it lying there clearly, but the game immediately throws a zombie at you once you grab it.

My tip: Before entering the Dining Room proper, clear your immediate rear and make sure you have a route planned. Pick up the B934, then pivot and move-don’t stand there reloading or admiring your new toy. I like to leg-shot the first zombie to create space and then finish it safely.

S&S M232 – Grace’s Main Handgun (Rhodes Hill Care Center Bar Lounge)

Zone: Rhodes Hill – Care Center, 1st Floor
Character: Grace

The S&S M232 is what I consider Grace’s “true” primary sidearm. It hits harder and feels better to aim than the B934 once you get used to it.

Location: On the first floor of the Rhodes Hill Care Center, head into the Bar & Lounge. Go up to the bar counter and slip behind the counter; the S&S M232 is sitting back there waiting to be picked up.

Don’t make my mistake: On my first run I cleared the lounge, grabbed the loot on the tables, and left without checking behind the bar. I didn’t realize I’d missed a handgun upgrade until much later in the chapter when ammo started getting tight.

Leon’s Story Weapons and Attachments

Alligator Snapper – Leon’s Base Sidearm

Character: Leon

The Alligator Snapper is Leon’s default handgun. You start with it and can’t miss it. It’s perfectly serviceable through Rhodes Hill, especially once you pick up its dedicated weapon mod.

I kept this equipped for precise headshots and leg shots even after unlocking bigger guns, using shotguns and SMGs only when the game really demanded crowd control.

MSBG 500 – First Shotgun (Rhodes Hill Attic, Near Chunk)

Zone: Rhodes Hill – Attic
Character: Leon

Location: You encounter the MSBG 500 right after your first big encounter with the Chunk in the attic. As Leon, you’ll see Chunk devouring a corpse; the shotgun is lying right next to that corpse.

How I handle this: Once Chunk is occupied, quickly move in, grab the MSBG 500, and immediately equip it. You don’t want to be fumbling in your inventory once the situation escalates. This shotgun completely changes how safely you can handle tight corridor fights in Rhodes Hill.

Compensator (Alligator Snapper Mod) – Same Attic, First Cupboard

Zone: Rhodes Hill – Attic (post-Chunk fight)
Item type: Weapon mod

Location: After the Chunk encounter, move into the next room with Leon. There’s a cupboard you can open-inside you’ll find the Compensator mod for the Alligator Snapper.

This attachment reduces recoil, making rapid follow-up shots with the handgun much easier. I recommend equipping it immediately in your attaché case menu; it’s one of those “always-on” upgrades that makes the Alligator Snapper feel a lot smoother.

Classic 70 – Auto-Granted Sniper (Rhodes Hill Care Center Courtyard)

Zone: Rhodes Hill – Care Center Courtyard
Character: Leon

You receive the Classic 70 sniper rifle automatically during a sequence where Leon provides cover fire for Grace on her way to the church. There’s no special input or pickup prompt; the game hands it to you as part of the scenario.

Even though it’s unmissable, it’s worth remembering: this rifle stays useful well beyond that set piece, especially once you pair it with the Silver Finish Scope later in Raccoon City.

Leon’s Supply Box Weapons in East Raccoon City

Once you reach East Raccoon City as Leon, the supply boxes start selling some powerful firearms. You buy these using credits you earn from enemies and exploration, not PC.

  • Silencer 9 (Pistol) – 5,500 credits
Zone: From East Raccoon City onwards
This suppressed pistol is purchased directly from any of Leon’s supply boxes available in that area. I like grabbing this early for quieter encounters; it lets you thin out groups without waking the whole block.
  • 990-TAC (Shotgun) – 7,000 credits
Zone: From East Raccoon City onwards
Bought from supply boxes as well. It’s basically your “second” shotgun; if you missed the MSBG 500, this becomes even more important.
  • Stiri REVO3 A1 (SMG) – 6,000 credits
Zone: From East Raccoon City onwards
Also purchased at supply boxes. It chews through ammo fast, so I mostly saved it for bosses or panic situations.

My purchase order tip: On my first run, I prioritized the Silencer 9 for control, then the 990-TAC as a bigger boomstick. The SMG came last once I had a cushion of ammo and credits.

GAL – SMG in the Flooded Underground Parking

Zone: East Raccoon City – Flooded Underground Parking Garage
Character: Leon

Location: In the Underground Parking Garage that’s partially flooded, there’s a room containing a battery you need for progression. The GAL SMG rests in a case on a table in the same room as that battery.

Common mistake: It’s easy to tunnel-vision on the battery objective and leave without opening the case. Before exiting, do a deliberate lap around the room and interact with every case and table.

Marksman 1A – Sniper in BSAA Container 03

Zone: East Raccoon City – Main Street
Character: Leon

Location step-by-step:

  • Start from the group of slaughtered BSAA soldiers you come across on Main Street.
  • Head all the way to the eastern end of the street.
  • Go around the parked cars and use a piece of broken ladder to climb onto a container.
  • From there, drop down to reach BSAA Container 03.
  • Open it up. The Marksman 1A sniper is inside, but so are zombies-be ready.

I recommend entering with a shotgun or the GAL equipped; quickly clear the infected inside, then swap to enjoy your new precision rifle.

Silver Finish Scope – Classic 70 Mod in RPD Underground Parking

Zone: Raccoon City Center – Police Station Underground Parking
Item type: Weapon mod

Location: After your sequence in the Raccoon City Police Department, you eventually unlock access to the Underground Parking Garage. Once you escape the station via the gaping hole behind the main hall statue, you can reach a container in this parking area that holds the Silver Finish Scope.

Attach this to the Classic 70 to make long-range engagements much more comfortable. This mod transformed the rifle from a situational tool into something I relied on heavily in open streets.

W870 Police – Hidden Shotgun in Kendo’s Gun Shop

Zone: Raccoon City Center – Kendo Gun Shop
Character: Leon

This is the weapon I completely missed my first time through.

Location: Progress through Kendo’s Gun Shop until a cutscene plays. As soon as the cutscene ends, do not walk forward. Instead, turn around and look at the shelves behind you. The W870 Police shotgun is sitting on a shelf, partially obscured by the door.

If you just follow the obvious forward path, you’ll leave the area without ever seeing it. Once you know to look for it, it’s impossible to unsee, but the game never points it out.

Mortal Edge – Story Axe on the ARK (Leon)

Zone: ARK – Leon
Character: Leon

Location: During the ARK section, Leon faces off against a commander boss wielding a massive axe. This axe is the Mortal Edge. Once you defeat the commander, you can pick up the Mortal Edge from the corpse.

This is a story-critical pickup, but it’s worth mentioning because you can later unlock a Special Content version as well.

Post-Game: Special Content Weapons and PC Costs

After you finish the main story once, the Special Content menu on the title screen opens up. Here you can spend your accumulated PC (Completion Points) to unlock premium weapons for future playthroughs.

Once purchased, these weapons appear as follows:

  • Grace – New weapons show up in item chests located in her safe rooms.
  • Leon – New weapons become available via his supply boxes.

Grace’s Special Content Weapons

  • Freya’s Needle
    Type: Full-auto pistol / SMG-style sidearm
    Cost: 4,000 PC
This turns Grace into much more of a mid-range threat. In my second playthrough, unlocking Freya’s Needle early made some previously nerve-wracking encounters a lot more manageable.
  • Kotetsu
    Type: Unbreakable knife
    Cost: 5,000 PC
Normally, knives for Grace are consumable and you burn through them quickly. Kotetsu never breaks, which dramatically changes how aggressively you can play up close. If you enjoy stealth takedowns and conserving bullets, this is the first Special Content purchase I’d recommend for her.

Leon’s Special Content Weapons

  • Matilda IMP
    Type: Pistol (burst-capable)
    Cost: 500 PC
Cheap and cheerful. I grabbed this first since the PC cost is low, and it gives Leon a spicy sidearm option right out of the gate.
  • Ghost Grudge
    Type: Heavy revolver
    Cost: 1,000 PC
Hits like a truck. I reserved this for mini-bosses and late-game threats; ammo is too precious to waste on regular zombies.
  • Redemption
    Type: Revolver using rifle ammo
    Cost: 3,500 PC
This is a quirky hybrid: a handgun frame firing rifle rounds. It lets you leverage your rifle ammo pool in a more mobile way. Once I learned the ammo economy in Requiem, Redemption became one of my favorite tools for elite enemies.
  • Clatter Carbine
    Type: Assault rifle
    Cost: 6,000 PC
For players who like to lean into Leon’s action-hero side. It chews through ammo but trivializes some combat arenas if you’re prepared to keep it fed.
  • Mortal Edge
    Type: Axe (Special Content duplicate)
    Cost: 15,000 PC
This is essentially the premium version of the story Mortal Edge. It’s a big PC investment, so I treated this as a “luxury” unlock after I’d already grabbed the guns that shaped how I play.

My suggested PC spending order: For a balanced approach, I went Kotetsu → Freya’s Needle → Matilda IMP → Ghost Grudge → Redemption → Clatter Carbine → Mortal Edge. That front-loads quality-of-life upgrades and powerful but ammo-efficient weapons.

Putting It All Together

If you follow this guide during your first full playthrough, you should walk away with:

  • Every story-available weapon for Grace and Leon.
  • Key weapon mods like the Compensator and Silver Finish Scope that quietly buff your favorite guns.
  • A clear plan for which Special Content weapons to unlock first with your hard-earned PC.

On my second run, hitting all these pickups and having a couple of Special Content weapons unlocked completely changed the feel of the game. Sections that felt desperate the first time turned into opportunities to experiment with new tools and ammo types instead of just scraping by.

Use this compendium as a checklist while you play: when you enter a new zone—Rhodes Hill, East Raccoon City, the ARK—take a moment to mentally tick off which weapons and mods you haven’t grabbed yet. Once you’ve done that, you’ll be free to focus on what Resident Evil Requiem does best: tight, terrifying encounters where the right weapon at the right time makes all the difference.
