Golden Falls (World 3) in Super Mario Bros. Wonder looks straightforward at first glance, but it’s one of those worlds where I kept finishing stages with that annoying feeling: “There has to be one more Wonder Seed or Purple Coin here.” Between the springy grasshopper enemies, hidden pipes inside waterfalls, timed trials, and invisible blocks in the Secret Park, it’s very easy to leave the world at 90-95% without knowing what you missed.
This guide walks you level by level through World 3 (also known as Cascadas Doradas in some language settings), mapping out:
I’ll describe positions and mechanics instead of relying on exact level names, because translations differ between regions. If something feels slightly off in your version (especially in Poplin hubs), cross-check with a short video clip – a couple of jumps are fussy with angles and patches can tweak enemy behavior.
World 3 has 8 main levels. Most of them follow the standard pattern: 2 Wonder Seeds per stage (one from the Wonder Flower sequence, one from finishing the level) plus 3 large Purple Coins.
This is your introduction to the springy mantis/grasshopper enemies that bounce and can break brick blocks.
Tip: The Safety Bounce or Floating High Jump badges help a lot here if you’re still getting a feel for how far the insects launch you.
This level leans heavily on the Elephant ability and snail-shell interactions.
Don’t make my mistake: I wasted time trying to throw a normal (non-Elephant) shell through the bricks – it just doesn’t get the height/angle. You really do want Elephant form for this one.
This vertical climb has a special shiny spring insect that constantly runs away from you. It drops the Wonder Flower, so you must catch and defeat it once before you think about cleaning up coins.
Important: Make sure you’ve already defeated the shiny grasshopper and obtained the Wonder Seed before committing to the upper pipe detours; otherwise you risk getting desynced from the enemy cycles and wasting attempts.

This stage is a bit of a puzzle: you often need to let spring insects kill other enemies or hit switches for you to collect coins.
Tip: If you’re struggling with timing, equip a badge that gives slightly more aerial control (like Floating High Jump). It buys you time to line up with the spring insects instead of overshooting them.
Here the Wonder Flower is basically at the start and turns the level into a star-powered dash.
Common mistake: pausing or doubling back during the star section. The safest play is to commit to the run and trust that every Purple Coin is directly in front of you.
This is the stage where you ride on rails that auto-move, giving you little time to react. Most collectables are still visible; the trick is knowing when not to trigger the Wonder Flower.
Tip: I recommend the Crouch High Jump or Speed badge here; being able to quickly hop between rail heights makes grabbing the coins much more forgiving.

World 3 also includes a couple of short stages focused entirely on collecting yellow tokens or racing timers. They each reward a single Wonder Seed and don’t have Purple Coins, but they do count toward world completion.
These are short but easy to fail if you rush without planning jumps. Take one “scouting” run just to see where the next timer block is before attempting a clean run.
The Secret Park in Golden Falls is where I initially got stuck at 99% – the game shows one more Seed in the world, but the stage itself doesn’t clearly mark everything. Here’s how it works.
General route that worked for me:
Because there are minor discrepancies between written guides and some video routes for this area, if you’re down to 4/5 tokens and stuck, quickly skim a video walkthrough for Secret Park in your version – the core logic is identical, but the exact blocks you need to hit can be slightly offset.
Apart from the main stages and hobbies, Golden Falls has three important hub locations on the world map, each with a collectible tied to it.
Note on information gaps: Hub interiors (especially Poplin dialogue variations) are documented less precisely than stage layouts in some guides. The important part for completion is simple: visit the house, buy the Seed in the shop, and clear the mansion to secure the Queen Seed.

World 3 includes four short challenge levels often referred to as “hobbies,” each awarding exactly 1 Wonder Seed when completed:

Each one is short, but some are tight on timing. I strongly suggest equipping your best mobility badge before entering, and if one of them is driving you crazy, watch a quick clip for that specific activity – seeing the intended route saves a lot of trial-and-error.
Completely separate from Mario, but relevant if you’re playing on Switch and eyeing other platforms: Sony has officially raised prices across the PS5 line in many regions.
According to Sony, the move is a response to “continued pressures in the global economic landscape,” and the new prices are scheduled to apply from early April. If this trajectory holds, a future PS6 (especially a hypothetical “Pro” model) nudging or exceeding the 1,000 € mark at launch is no longer far-fetched.
It’s a sharp contrast with Nintendo’s strategy: Super Mario Bros. Wonder and its Switch 2 upgrade remain tied to more traditional console pricing, which makes completing worlds like Golden Falls feel like better value compared to the high-end cost of joining or upgrading in the PlayStation ecosystem.
