Resident Evil Requiem: How to Find All 75 Documents – Case Closed Guide

Resident Evil Requiem: How to Find All 75 Documents – Case Closed Guide

Why Documents Matter in Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem hides a lot of its best storytelling – and some crucial puzzle solutions – inside its 75 collectible documents. Collecting every single one unlocks the trophy / achievement “Affaire classée” (known as “Case Closed” in some language settings), and several of them reveal safe combinations, door codes, and foreshadowing for late-game twists.

The catch: many of these files sit in areas you can never revisit. The Rhodes Hill Care Center, the East Raccoon City streets, and the ARK facility all have points of no return where the game quietly locks whole chunks of the map behind you. If you want Affaire classée in a single run, you need to treat documents as part of your route, not an afterthought.

This guide walks through the game’s four main zones – Wrenwood, Rhodes Hill, Station/Plant, and Raccoon City – in story order, highlighting specific document locations that are easy to miss, where you get files automatically, and when you should make a manual save before moving on.

How Files and Trophy Tracking Work

A few quick basics before jumping into the route:

  • Total documents: 75, spread across the entire campaign.
  • Zones: Wrenwood (6), Rhodes Hill Care Center (a huge chunk of the total), the Station/Plant / Water Treatment section, and Raccoon City (East, Center, ARK facility).
  • Auto vs manual: Some files are awarded automatically after cutscenes; most require you to interact with papers, whiteboards, bulletin boards, or items and actually flip / open them.
  • File order: The in-game Files list has a “default” order that roughly matches story progression, but different guides number them differently. Focus on names and locations, not external numbering.
  • Multiple pages: A few key documents only count after you rotate them and open a second page, or read the content inside a notebook. Do not just tap and back out.
  • Missables: Files generally persist in your global Files menu, but because of one-way transitions it’s easiest to plan as if you want them all in one playthrough.

Whenever you’re about to drop down a hole, climb a ladder you clearly cannot get back down, or leave a major hub through a big “objective complete” door, it’s worth making a manual save. That single habit makes cleaning up missed files dramatically less painful.

Wrenwood – All 6 Documents

Wrenwood is short but sets the tone: the game immediately expects you to look at the environment, not just glowing items. You’ll grab 5 files as Grace and 1 as Leon.

  • Wrenwood City Guide
Grace – street, very start of the game
As soon as you gain control, walk a few steps along the main street and look to the notice board on the right. Examine the flyer on the board to register your first document.
  • Investigation Report
    Grace – hotel, kitchen entrance
After entering the hotel through the Kitchen, move forward to the door that triggers a cutscene. Once it ends, inspect the report on the table. Rotate and open it to see the inner page, otherwise it may not properly log.
  • Hotel Brochure
    Grace – hotel lobby
When you reach the Lobby via the windy curtain corridor, look near the service cart on the floor. The brochure is lying there.
  • Hotel Closure Notice
    Grace – hotel office
From the Lobby, go behind the reception counter, through the door marked “Office”. Circle around the blue desk in the middle and open the drawer to find this file.
  • Alyssa’s Journal
    Grace – hotel lobby, story-locked
After going upstairs to the guest room and then returning to the Lobby, examine the central <strongnotice board="" painting<="" strong="">. The journal is awarded automatically as part of the story once you inspect it.
  • Report on Gideon
    Leon – Wrenwood introduction, automatic
When the game switches to Leon for the first time, this report is given in the intro cutscene and added to your Files without input.

Wrenwood has no hard missables once you’re inside the hotel, but it’s good practice: always rotate documents and check drawers, not just obvious glowing items.

Rhodes Hill Care Center – The Big One (41 Documents)

Rhodes Hill is where most runs lose the Affaire classée trophy. The layout loops back on itself, you jump between Grace and Leon, and there are two major points of no return in this chapter alone:

  • Once Grace drops into the basement, you can never go back to the upper floors of the Care Center.
  • Once you leave the building via the Main Hall into the Courtyard and push on with the objective, the entire Care Center interior becomes inaccessible.

Make a manual save before you drop into the basement and another before exiting to the Courtyard.

Grace – Part 1 (Patient Wing)

  • Observation Notes
Room 203, right after controlling Grace
As soon as you regain control in Room 203, check the bedside nightstand in front of you. The notes are on the table.
  • Note on a Cardboard Box
    Room 202, needs lighter first
After getting the lighter, backtrack to the corridor just before the red warning light and enter Room 202 on the left. Open the wardrobe in the back-left corner. Grace grabs a lamp, and the note is taped to a cardboard box inside.

Grace – Part 2 (Main Building: Guard Room, East & West Wings)

This section is dense with medical reports and admin memos. Treat every office as a full sweep: desks, side tables, whiteboards, and trash cans.

  • Care Center Brochure
    Guard Room (first save room)
In the Guard Room where you find your first typewriter/save point, check the coffee table. The brochure on Victor Gideon is there.
  • Message on a Board
    Guard Room
Right next to the brochure is a whiteboard / notice board on the wall. Read the message written on it.
  • Folded Note
1F Bar Lounge corridor, outside President’s Office
On the first floor, near the Bar Lounge and the door to the President’s Office, there’s a small alcove with ammo and a green herb. A bloodstained white coat hanging on the wall hides this note – examine it.
  • President’s Diary
    President’s Office, 1F
Enter the President’s Office. There’s a torn notebook on the coffee table. First, pick up the pencil on the president’s main desk (after dealing with the zombie). Then inspect the torn notebook and “shade” the page with the pencil to reveal the hidden message, which also gives you a clue for the combination cabinet puzzle.
  • Copy of an Email
    President’s Office
On a blue cabinet near where the zombie wanders, there’s a printed email. Pick it up.
  • Message to the President
    President’s Office
Check the trash can in the entrance corner. A crumpled note is inside.
  • Blood Compound Synthesis
Blood Analysis Lab, East Wing, ground floor
In the East Wing’s Blood Analysis Laboratory, the document lies on the central workbench opposite the blood collector machine.
  • Safe Replacement Notice
East Wing Waiting Room, ground floor
In the East Wing Waiting Room, behind the counter guarded by a zombie with a blood pack, this notice sits next to the open safe with two antique coins.
  • Head Researcher’s Message
Head Researcher’s Office, 1F East Wing
On the first floor, enter the Head Researcher’s Office; the message is on furniture behind the main desk.
  • Chief Researcher’s Photos 1–3
    Head Researcher’s Office
Three framed photos scattered around the room: one on the main desk (slightly right), one on the cabinet by the windows, and one to the left of the first photo. Examine each to register all three documents.
  • Examination Room Safe Code
East Wing 1F corridor (Chunk encounter)
In the corridor where the Chunk ambushes you for the first time, lure it downstairs, then return to the far right end of that corridor. The note is on a piece of furniture near some lockers.
  • Medical Records
    Conference Room, 1F East Wing
In the Conference Room, clear the screaming zombie and other infected, then head to the back desk to find this file.
  • Spencer’s Research I
Head Researcher’s Office, combination cabinet reward
Solving the President’s Office combination cabinet gives you a leather-bound journal in the Head Researcher’s Office. Open it and flip through; inside are the notes filed as “Spencer’s Research I”.
  • Opening the Organ Transport Case
    Same leather-bound journal
Another page in that same journal explains how to open the organ transport box. Make sure you scroll/flip until it registers as a separate file.
  • Victor’s Notes
Blood Analysis Lab, security Level 1 required
Once you have the Level 1 ID bracelet, unlock the Level 1 security door off the blood lab and check the desk inside.
  • Construction Notice
    Ground floor, West Wing corridor
Opposite the Janitor’s Office (third save point), a note is pinned to the wall – this is easy to run past.
  • Bar Lounge Safe Code
    West Wing Office, 1F
From the Janitor’s Office, go up the stairs to the Office room. On one of the central desks you’ll find the Bar Lounge safe combination.
  • Background Check
    Same Office
Another desk in the same room, near the door to the small Kitchen, has this personnel file.
  • Elimination Team Report
    Archives, 1F West Wing
From the Office, step into the Archives. Towards the back, this report is sitting in a cardboard box.
  • Double Mutation
Isolation Unit, East Wing, Level 2 required
With the Level 2 ID bracelet, head to the Isolation Unit near the Security Chief’s Office. In the small room just before the chief’s office, check a cardboard box for this file.
  • Nurse’s Report
    Same Isolation Unit antechamber
From Double Mutation, take a few steps right to a desk with another report.

Leon – Part 2 (Upper Floors & Attic)

  • Satiety Suppression Reports
Before crawling under debris to Attic
Once you regain control of Leon later in the Care Center, look around before lifting the large piece of furniture to squeeze into the Attic. The report lies on a nearby desk. If you crawl through without grabbing it, you can’t come back.
  • Basement Safe Code
    Warped closet, post-Chunk attic fight
After the fight against the Chunk between the Attic and the Attic Storage, a warped closet becomes accessible. Open it to find this safe code document.
  • Dishwasher’s Note
    Warped closet, lounge–President’s corridor
In the corridor between the Bar Lounge and the President’s Office (1F West Wing), another warped closet holds this note.
  • Special Directive for Raccoon City
Automatic, end of Leon’s Rhodes Hill section
Awarded at the end of Leon’s Care Center sequence once you reach Gideon’s office.
  • Raccoon City Syndrome Report
    Automatic, same cutscene
Also given automatically in Gideon’s office.

Grace – Part 3 (Basement & Furnace)

Once you drop into the basement, this is your last chance to mop up the Care Center interior. Down here, the game loves to hide files next to corpses and machinery.

  • Employee’s Last Words
    Basement entrance
Take a few steps from where you land; a corpse with a note lies nearby.
  • Elimination Operation: “The Girl”
    Security Room (save point)
In the Security Room that also holds the basement save point, check the main desk.
  • Cell Release Instructions
    End of Cell Corridor
At the far end of the Cells corridor, look above the connector slots on the wall to find this notice.
  • Technician’s Message
    Workshop, via connector door
Opposite the lever used to open the cells is the door to the Workshop. Use a connector to open it; inside, a note lies on a table near a Mr. Raccoon statue.
  • Security Agent’s Report
    Furnace side-area
Use another connector in the Furnace area to access a side room where a zombie wanders between a pallet jack and a desk. The report is on that desk.

Courtyard & VIP Salon

After reaching the Courtyard from the Main Hall, everything back in the Care Center proper is done. A small VIP annex and its basement hold the final Rhodes Hill documents.

  • Visitor Register
    Small building by the helipad
From the helipad, enter the small structure leading to the VIP Lounge. A ledger on the cabinet in front of you is the visitor log.
  • Research Results Note
    VIP Lounge
Inside the VIP Lounge proper, go to the back desk to find this file.
  • Spencer’s Research II
    VIP Lounge basement, save room
In the basement beneath the VIP Lounge, next to the save point, sits another document continuing Spencer’s notes.
  • Subject 170 Dossier
    Sampling & Testing Room
In the large Sampling & Testing chamber with zombies inside pods, cross to the far-right corner to a gurney with this dossier.
  • Grace Ashcroft Blood Analysis
    Private Lab, after Testing/Development rooms
After passing through the Testing and Development rooms, enter the Private Laboratory. Check the desk immediately to your left.

Station / Plant / Water Treatment – Don’t Leave Anything Behind

The game groups the mid-game facilities – the Station, Plant, and Water Treatment – into a single broader “zone” for files. There are fewer story-critical documents here than in Rhodes Hill, but it’s still easy to leave one behind while you’re focused on keeping NPCs alive or juggling valves.

  • Roof Opening Manual
    Water Treatment, Storage Area office
After securing Emily in the Storage Zone, check the nearby office desk. The manual explains the procedure for opening the roof shutters and counts as one of the zone’s documents.

Beyond that, expect status reports and maintenance logs on clipboards in control rooms, pump stations, and power regulator panels. Before you trigger any big escape sequences (sirens, rising water, or timed runs), do a fast loop of every side room and check:

  • Desks next to control panels
  • Wall-mounted boards and schematics
  • Lockers and open toolboxes

If your version of the game highlights fully looted rooms on the map, use that to confirm you’ve cleared each floor before moving toward the main objective marker.

Raccoon City – East, Center, and ARK Facility (Remaining Documents)

The final 20+ files are split between the East Raccoon City streets, Central Raccoon City & the R.P.D. perimeter, and the late-game ARK bioweapons facility. These sections are more linear but have brutal no-return transitions:

  • Finishing the main objective in East Raccoon City pushes you into Central with no way back.
  • Boarding transport to the ARK facility is another hard cutoff.
  • In ARK, moving past the final lab doors towards the ending sequence locks out earlier floors.

East Raccoon City – Quarantine Perimeter

In the eastern streets, most documents are evacuation orders, early “Raccoon Syndrome” medical notes, and police reports posted near barricades. The safe way to play this section for Affaire classée is:

  • Check every apartment you can enter – kitchen tables, fridges (magnets with notes), and desks often hold files.
  • Read the posters and clipboards at checkpoints and barricades; several of these are actual files, not just background props.
  • Before triggering any “get to the extraction point” style objective, do a last loop of alleyways you opened with cutting tools or keys.

Central Raccoon & R.P.D. Perimeter – Key Lore Files

Once you reach central Raccoon and the R.P.D. area, you’ll find some of the most lore-heavy documents in the game, plus a couple of important ones linked to safes and operations.

Screenshot from Resident Evil Requiem
Screenshot from Resident Evil Requiem
  • R.P.D. Perimeter Report
Raccoon City Center, near R.P.D. Main Hall
Inside the R.P.D. perimeter, check the file box in the Main Hall (usually at the base of a statue or near the front desk). This report covers the status of the surrounding streets.
  • Top Secret Operation
    West Office desk, R.P.D. perimeter
In the West Office–style room off Central Raccoon, a desk holds this “Top Secret Operation” file. It ties together Gideon’s plans and the Raccoon bio-weapon situation.

There are additional incident reports, officer logs, and evacuation memos in nearby offices. Whenever you clear a combat encounter inside or just outside the station, take a slow lap of the room and interact with:

  • Ransacked desks and cubicles
  • Bulletin boards with pinned notes
  • Map boards and briefing charts in briefing rooms

ARK Facility – Final Missables

The ARK facility is the final zone and the last place where you can lose the Affaire classée trophy. The structure is stacked vertically with guest areas, labs, and control rooms.

  • Raccoon City Bioweapon Research – Report
    ARK Top Floor, Guest Lounge
After a cutscene in the Server Room, a new document appears on the wall of the Guest Lounge on the top floor. Don’t rush past it to the next objective.
  • Access Log: 51st Assembly Minutes
ARK B2, Monitor Control Room (Magnetic Key required)
Once you have the Magnetic Key, unlock the Monitor Control Room on B2. Check the main console for this access log.

Elsewhere in ARK, expect experiment logs, subject dossiers, and sterilization-chamber notes. As a rule of thumb:

  • Fully clear each guest room and lab before taking elevators to new floors.
  • After major cutscenes, revisit any nearby lounges or observation rooms; some files only spawn after story beats, like the bioweapon report mentioned above.
  • Make a manual save at the ARK lobby when you first arrive so you can backtrack if you realize a file is missing late in the chapter.

General Tips to Secure the “Affaire classée” Trophy

  • Clear areas methodically: Before hitting any obvious objective doors or ladders, sweep side rooms, check drawers, and look at walls for interactable notes.
  • Use the Files menu: Periodically open your Files and compare what you have with each major zone you’ve just finished. If you’re clearly missing several in a chapter you just left, consider reloading a manual save.
  • Inspect documents fully: Rotate, open, and flip pages, especially for journals and reports that look thicker. Some, like the leather-bound Spencer journal, hide multiple files inside.
  • Prioritize safe-code documents: Files like the Bar Lounge Safe Code, Examination Room Safe Code, and Basement Safe Code both count toward the 75 and save you ammo and healing by avoiding blind safe cracking.
  • Respect points of no return: The biggest ones are: dropping into the Care Center basement, exiting to the Courtyard, leaving East Raccoon for Central, boarding transport to ARK, and entering the final lab sequence. Always keep at least one manual save before these transitions.
  • Don’t stress over numbering: Different online guides start their numbering in different zones. Use the document names and room descriptions above rather than relying on “File #23” or similar labels from other sources.

With a deliberate sweep of each zone – especially the Rhodes Hill Care Center and the ARK facility – you’ll not only secure the Affaire classée trophy but also unlock a much richer understanding of what really happened in Wrenwood, Rhodes Hill, and Raccoon City. Treat documents as part of the main objective, and by the time the credits roll your Files list should be completely filled in.
