Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Embark on a journey as the Greymane Kliff and restore…
To eavesdrop and complete the Bared Fang quest in Crimson Desert, do not stand on the objective marker and wait for the game to handle it. The eavesdrop trigger is positional: you need to be outside the correct hut or barn, with a wall directly between you and the people talking inside, then shuffle along that wall until the Eavesdrop prompt appears. Once that part works, the rest of the quest is a dialogue-order check with a Blue Fang guard: ask about The Truth of the Underground Storage and expose the lie with Secret Society’s Base, later ask about Mysterious Faction Within Beighen, and finish by asking about Leader of the Blue Fangs and exposing the lie with Torstein.
Secret Society’s Base.Torstein.Among Crimson Desert walkthroughs and quest guides, Bared Fang is awkward because the problem is not combat or survival. It is discoverability. Current guide coverage agrees on the same basic rule: the game wants a very small sweet spot on the outside of a structure, not simple proximity to the objective area. That is why players can stand in the quest circle, circle the building, or even find the right hut and still get nothing.
Different write-ups describe the trigger point a little differently: the back of the hut, the middle wooden pane, or a crack in the wall. Those descriptions sound different, but they point to the same geometry. You are listening through the wall, not approaching the speakers directly. If you are looking through a doorway or trying to walk into the conversation, you are usually on the wrong side of the interaction.
The first eavesdrop in the Bared Fang quest happens in Beighen, near the lumberyard and waterfront. If the quest marker feels vague, use the landmark instead of the circle: look for the hut or barn by the river-side work area, not an interior room and not a scripted cutscene spot.

When you reach the building, do this:
Eavesdrop prompt as soon as it appears. The important part is that the prompt does not seem to use a wide radius. It is more like a narrow interaction seam in the wall. If nothing appears, do not keep running circles around the building. Hug the wall more tightly and test a slightly different section of the boards. In most cases, being on the correct wall matters more than being only a step closer.
After the first eavesdrop, talk to the Blue Fang guard. This is the first real progression gate in Chapter 7. The quest advances only if you pick the right topic and then call out the lie.
The Truth of the Underground Storage.Secret Society’s Base. This answer set is the most consistent part of the quest across current guides. If you pick a different line and the guard conversation ends without progress, talk to him again and repeat the exchange with the correct evidence. Bared Fang is not built like a permanent fail-state quest; the usual punishment for the wrong line is just wasted time.

The second eavesdrop uses the same logic as the first. Follow the next objective, then look for the structure where voices are coming from and position yourself outside so the wall is between you and the speakers. Do not assume the marker means “stand here.” In this quest, the marker gets you to the area; your actual placement does the rest.
One useful workaround reported in current coverage is environmental manipulation. If the prompt seems unusually fussy at the second spot, try moving the nearby log with Nature’s Grasp. That suggests props or collision can interfere with the narrow eavesdrop position. If you are blocked by clutter, fix the space first and then try the same wall-hugging movement again.
After that second listen, speak to the guard again and choose Mysterious Faction Within Beighen. This middle dialogue check appears less strict than the first and last ones. Current guidance suggests it functions more as a progression gate than a meaningful branching puzzle, and the guard does not reveal much regardless. If your version behaves oddly, make sure you are still selecting the lie-related response path before leaving the conversation.

The last stretch repeats the same rhythm one more time: eavesdrop from outside the structure, not from the marker; keep the wall between you and the conversation; adjust your position until the prompt appears. Once that final listen is done, return to the Blue Fang guard for the last check.
Leader of the Blue Fangs.Torstein.That final answer is the one that unlocks access to the underground or secret base and completes the Bared Fang quest line. If you reached this point and nothing opens, the most likely causes are a missed eavesdrop trigger earlier in the sequence or using the wrong evidence on the final lie check.
Nature’s Grasp and retry.Secret Society’s Base; the final key evidence is Torstein. If Bared Fang refuses to finish after the final guard talk, backtrack one step at a time and confirm the quest order is complete: first eavesdrop, first lie check, second eavesdrop, second guard conversation, final eavesdrop, final lie check with Torstein. That sequence is the reliable way through the quest.
