Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Embark on a journey as the Greymane Kliff and restore…
To eavesdrop and complete the Bared Fang quest in Crimson Desert, the trick is not where you stand – it is that you have to actually lean against the wall and then hold the aim button to listen in. The in-game tutorial under-explains this: get next to the correct wall, press the lean button (L3 / left-stick click on controller), then hold L1/LB to aim at the people talking on the other side until the listen meter fills. Once that part clicks, the rest of the quest is a dialogue check with a Blue Fang guard: ask about The Truth of the Underground Storage and expose the lie with Secret Society's Base, then ask about Mysterious Faction Within Beighen and expose the lie with Blue Fangs, and finish by asking about Leader of the Blue Fangs and exposing the lie with Torstein.
L1/LB to aim and eavesdrop – standing near the marker does nothing on its own.Secret Society's Base → Blue Fangs → Torstein.Among Crimson Desert walkthroughs, Bared Fang trips people up not because of combat but because of one missing instruction. Eavesdropping is a two-step action the tutorial barely explains: you must lean against a wall first, and only then can you hold the aim button to listen through it. If you simply walk up to the building and sit on the objective marker, nothing happens – the game is waiting for that lean.
That is also why guide descriptions sound different: “the back of the hut,” “a wooden pane,” “a crack in the wall.” They are all pointing at the same thing – a solid wall section you can lean on with the conversation happening on the other side. You are listening through the wall, not walking into the room. If you are facing an open doorway or trying to approach the speakers directly, you are on the wrong side of the interaction.
The first eavesdrop in the Bared Fang quest happens in Beighen, near the waterfront. If the quest marker feels vague, use the landmark instead of the circle: head for the red-painted barn by the riverside work area, not an interior room or a scripted cutscene spot.

When you reach the barn, do this:
L1/LB to aim toward the voices on the other side. One counterintuitive detail several guides call out: do not try to listen through the windowed, open part of the barn. Lean on the opposite, solid wall instead. If nothing triggers, the cause is almost always the missing lean step rather than being one step too far away.
After the first eavesdrop, talk to the Blue Fang guard. This is the first real progression gate in Chapter 7. The quest advances only if you pick the right topic and then call out the lie.
The Truth of the Underground Storage.Secret Society's Base.
This answer is the most consistent part of the quest across current guides. If you pick a different line and the conversation ends without progress, talk to him again and repeat the exchange with the correct evidence. Bared Fang is not a permanent fail-state quest; the usual punishment for a wrong line is just wasted time.

Ultimate Guide Strategy Guide + Weekly Pro Tips
The second eavesdrop uses the same logic as the first. Follow the next objective to a house toward the middle of the village, then position yourself against a solid wall, lean, and hold the aim button to listen through it. Do not assume the marker means “stand here” – the marker gets you to the area, and the lean does the rest.
There is a known snag at this spot. The house has a log lying on the floor that can sit right where you need to be, and the eavesdrop can refuse to trigger because of it. A workaround reported by VGC is to move that log out of the way with Nature's Grasp, then lean and listen as normal. If a position feels unusually fussy, clear the nearby clutter first and try the same wall-lean again.
After that listen, speak to the guard again, choose Mysterious Faction Within Beighen, and expose the lie with Blue Fangs. This middle check gets less attention than the first and last, but it does have a correct answer – Blue Fangs – so do not breeze past it expecting it to clear on its own.
The last stretch repeats the rhythm one more time, with a twist on positioning. This eavesdrop is at a larger building near the hideout: climb onto the roof and drop down the far side so you can reach the solid wall where two figures are talking, then lean and hold the aim button to listen. Once that final listen is done, return to the Blue Fang guard for the last check.
Leader of the Blue Fangs.Torstein.
Naming Torstein is what convinces the guard to let you into the underground base and completes the Bared Fang quest line. If you reach this point and nothing opens, the most likely causes are a missed eavesdrop trigger earlier in the sequence or the wrong evidence on one of the lie checks.
L1/LB to aim at the speakers.Nature's Grasp and retry.Secret Society's Base, then Blue Fangs, then Torstein. If Bared Fang refuses to finish after the final guard talk, backtrack one step at a time and confirm the full order is complete: first eavesdrop, first lie check (Secret Society's Base), second eavesdrop, second lie check (Blue Fangs), final eavesdrop, final lie check (Torstein). That sequence is the reliable way through the quest.
