Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Embark on a journey as the Greymane Kliff and restore…
Most players hit the same dead end: they finally reach Pororin, do one lap of the village, never find a normal storefront, and assume the Sigil of Valor is missing or bugged. It isn’t. The item is sold by a wandering vendor who only appears in daylight, and you can’t reach her until a faction quest opens the village. Get those two things straight and the unlock takes minutes.
The Sigil of Valor turns your dog from a cosmetic follower into an active combat companion. Once equipped, the dog runs in with bite and lunge attacks during fights. Set your expectations correctly: it is not a second damage dealer that carries encounters on its own. It attacks intermittently — adding pressure, interrupting smaller enemies, and helping clean up weak packs. It is a quality-of-life upgrade, not a build-defining one, and at 8 Silver it is one of the cheapest companion unlocks in the game.
The money is never the problem. Access is. The vendor lives in the Pororin area, and Pororin stays sealed until you clear the faction quest that opens it. Try to walk in early and you get sleep-darted and turned away — that is by design, and it is also the trigger for the quest you need.
After you get sleep-darted attempting to enter Pororin three times, the “Unreachable Village” faction quest (also surfaced as Trembling Woods / Pororin Forest Guardians) becomes available. It is given by a Shai named Arkin (sometimes transcribed Arklin) at the warded trail by the sentry — not by a random NPC under a tree. Track the quest in your journal under the Hernand faction line rather than hunting icons on the map. Until that quest is complete and Pororin is properly open, the vendor will not be reachable.
One note that trips people up: the “big tree” you may have read about is where the vendor later wanders, not where the quest starts. Don’t waste time circling a tree looking for a quest-giver — start the chain with Arkin at the trail.
With Pororin open, head to Florindale, the northern subsidiary village within the Pororin area, southeast of Hernand. This is where the location names in older guides conflict — “Pororin” and “Florindale” both show up — but they describe the same place. Florindale sits inside the Pororin region, and that is where the vendor spends most of her time.
The vendor is Lacey, a Shai who runs a Secret Shop. She does not stand behind a fixed stall — she wanders the village on foot, and she only appears during daytime hours, roughly 9am–5pm. Walk the village paths and talk to the roaming trader. Because it is a Secret Shop, the trade option can sit behind her dialogue rather than greeting you immediately, so check for a shop or trade prompt instead of dismissing the first line of text.
If you arrive at night and she isn’t there, don’t overthink it. Advance time, rest, or come back in the morning. Daytime-only is the single most reliable detail about this vendor.

Ultimate Guide Strategy Guide + Weekly Pro Tips
In Lacey’s Secret Shop, the Sigil of Valor costs 8 Silver each. Bring that much before you go so you can buy it the moment she appears. It is dirt cheap for how much it changes your companion’s behavior, so there is no reason to hold off.
Owning it is not enough — you have to equip it. Open your pet or companion equipment screen and slot the Sigil onto your dog. If the dog is still passive after the purchase, the item is almost always sitting unequipped in your inventory. Equip it, and the dog starts joining fights.

Test it on a weak overworld pack rather than a boss. Small fights make it obvious when the dog joins in.
This unlock is a three-link chain: clear the “Unreachable Village” quest from Arkin to open Pororin, find Lacey’s roaming Secret Shop in Florindale during daytime hours, and buy the Sigil of Valor for 8 Silver — then equip it on your dog so it fights instead of follows. For 8 Silver it is the cheapest companion upgrade with the clearest payoff in Crimson Desert, so it is the one to grab first.
