Crimson Desert: How to Solve Vérité asséchée – Walkthrough

To clear Vérité asséchée in Crimson Desert, usually translated as Dry Truth, follow this order: enter from the Forgotten Altar Sky Gate, wake the first mechanism with Axiom Force, free the wall battery on the south side of the ground floor, restore power so the three round floor mechanisms turn blue, climb up and strike the newly unlocked central mechanism, then use the floating platforms to reach the final monolith at the top. If you are stuck, the usual cause is simple: one floor node is still orange or the battery is not feeding the right cable path.

This Abyss challenge is more of a logic-and-movement test than a combat check. The puzzle language changes a little between guides and translations, so you may see the same objects called buttons, nodes, or round mechanisms. They all point to the same goal: get all three floor pieces into their active blue state so the overhead mechanism and Nexus sequence unlock.

What to have ready before you start

  • Axiom Force unlocked and comfortably bound. On controller, guides identify it as L3/LS + L2/LT. On PC, use your current Axiom Force keybinds from the controls menu.
  • A stable camera setup for platforming. This puzzle has multiple vertical climbs, and bad camera angles waste more time than the mechanics do.
  • Your lantern available on a quick slot if your follow-up route asks you to reveal a hidden path after the Nexus sequence.

You do not need a special combat build for Dry Truth. What matters is reading the room layout, following the cables, and checking the color of each mechanism before moving on.

How to reach Dry Truth

The challenge is accessed through the Forgotten Altar, the floating celestial hub that connects several Sky Gates and side Abysses. From there, enter the Sky Gate that leads to Vérité asséchée. Once inside the pyramid-like Abyss structure, interact with the opening mechanism using Axiom Force to begin restoring the area. If the entrance looks inactive, make sure you are targeting the mechanism itself and not the surrounding frame.

Step-by-step Dry Truth walkthrough

Step 1: Wake the first mechanism and drop to the lower level

Your first job is to get the structure responding. Use Axiom Force on the inactive mechanism near the entrance. This starts the restoration flow and gives you the route into the main chamber. From here, move carefully toward the lower level rather than chasing every visible platform immediately. Dry Truth opens up vertically, but the real progress begins on the ground floor where the battery and cable network sit. If you keep climbing too early, you usually end up staring at an inactive final mechanism with no idea why it will not respond.

Step 2: Find the south-side wall battery and free it

On the ground floor, head to the south side of the chamber and look for a battery fixed into the wall. This is the key state change for the whole puzzle. Pull it free with Axiom Force and bring it to the nearby power path or receiver tied into the cable network. Different guides describe this slightly differently, but they agree on the important part: the south-wall battery has to be removed from its original mount before the room can be fully re-powered.

Take a second to trace the cables visually. Dry Truth likes to make the room feel more complicated than it is. If the battery is seated correctly, the wiring associated with the floor section should look active, and the three circular mechanisms on the floor become the next priority.

Step 3: Activate all three floor nodes until they are blue

This is the section that stops most players. Around the floor are three round mechanisms. Some guides call them buttons, others call them nodes, and a few describe them as circular switches. The name does not matter. What matters is their final state. All three need to be active at the same time, and the visual confirmation is blue. If one is orange, dim, or inactive, the puzzle is not solved yet.

Work methodically. Activate one, confirm the color change, then move to the next while keeping an eye on the cable route. In some Abyss puzzles, moving a battery can depower something you already fixed, so do not assume the first node stayed active just because you touched it once. Before leaving the floor entirely, do one fast lap and verify that all three are still blue. That short check saves a lot of unnecessary climbing.

If a node refuses to change state, the problem is usually not the node itself. It means the battery is not seated properly, the cable chain is broken, or you are trying to activate the floor mechanism before the room’s power state has updated. Reposition the battery, recheck the cable direction, and try again. Once the third floor mechanism turns blue, the puzzle finally opens up and the overhead or upper-level mechanism becomes available.

Step 4: Climb up, strike the central mechanism, and go for the monolith

With the three floor nodes active, climb to the upper level of the central structure. You are looking for the now-unlocked mechanism above the main floor. Interact with it using the required close-range strike, described in guides as a palm hit or Force Palm-style blow. This triggers the next restoration step and effectively powers the Nexus sequence for the chamber.

After that, do not wander back down. The route forward is up. Floating platforms should now give you a path toward the top of the central pyramid, where the final monolith sits. Take these jumps slowly. The platforming here is the last real failure point in Dry Truth because it comes after the puzzle logic, when players tend to rush. Reach the monolith, activate it, and the challenge objective to restore the Abyss or activate the Abyssal Nexus should complete.

What to do if Dry Truth still looks unsolved

  • The upper mechanism is dead: one of the three floor nodes is not actually blue. Go back down and verify all three states.
  • A floor node will not light up: the battery is usually in the wrong socket or the cable path is not fully connected.
  • You reached the top but cannot finish: make sure you struck the central upper mechanism before committing to the floating platform route.
  • The post-puzzle path seems blocked: some follow-up routes in this area use the lantern to reveal the next path or visual clue. If your version presents that prompt, use the lantern before assuming the puzzle bugged.
  • Platforming keeps failing: line up the camera before each jump and avoid correcting midair too aggressively. This room has enough vertical depth that small camera mistakes turn into full resets.

There is also a minor translation issue worth knowing. Some walkthroughs describe the challenge as taking place in a pyramid, while others frame it more like a pyramid-ship or wreck interior. That does not change the solution. The fixed points are the same across sources: south-side battery, three floor mechanisms, upper central activation, final monolith.

What Dry Truth unlocks

Completing Vérité asséchée awards an Abyss Artifact and reactivates the Sky Gate route onward, typically identified in community guides as the path toward Demeniss or Shard of the Firmament. That is why this puzzle matters more than a one-room collectible detour. It is treated as a real progression gate in the late Abyss chain. The exact stat or long-term effect of the artifact is still less clearly documented than the route unlock itself, so the reliable takeaway is progression first, reward details second.

If your objective tracker still shows the Abyss as unrestored after the monolith, go back through the chamber in reverse order: monolith completed, upper mechanism struck, all three floor nodes blue, battery correctly placed. In Dry Truth, the solution is stable, and almost every failed clear comes from one of those four checks.
