Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game set in the beautiful yet brutal continent of Pywel. Embark on a journey as the Greymane Kliff and restore…
Vérité asséchée in Crimson Desert means “Dry Truth,” and it is the Abyss challenge most players get stuck on for the wrong reason: they treat the three glowing floor mechanisms as a simple on/off puzzle and climb too early. It is actually a power-and-color sequence, and the color logic is the opposite of what it looks like.
This is a logic-and-movement challenge, not a combat one. You do not need a special build. What you need is to read the room: where the battery feeds, what color each mechanism currently shows, and the fact that you reverse the colors before you finish.
L3/LS. The L2/LT trigger is a separate modifier — held with the right stick, it is how you pull/detach the wall battery. They are two different inputs, not one combo. On PC, use your Axiom Force binds from the controls menu. The challenge sits behind the Forgotten Altar, the floating celestial island that connects several Sky Gates. Take the Sky Gate that leads to Vérité asséchée. Inside the pyramid-like Abyss structure, use Axiom Force on the opening mechanism near the entrance to begin restoring the area. If nothing responds, you are targeting the frame instead of the mechanism itself.
Use Axiom Force on the inactive mechanism by the entrance to start the restoration flow, then head down rather than up. The puzzle opens vertically, but everything that matters starts on the ground floor — the wall battery and the three floor mechanisms. Climbing first is the single most common time-waster here: you end up staring at a dead overhead mechanism with no way to power it.

On the ground floor, go to the south side. There is a small room with a battery fixed into the wall. Aim Axiom Force at it, then use the L2/LT pull modifier with the right stick to detach it from its mount. This is the key state change for the whole puzzle — until the battery is free and feeding the floor section, the three round mechanisms will not respond to anything you do.
This is where most clears go wrong. The three round mechanisms on the floor do not start neutral — only one begins lit orange. Your job is two-stage:
L3/LS) to flip it from orange to blue.Blue is the finished state for every mechanism. Orange is “active but not yet converted,” not “off.” That inversion is the trap — players see orange, assume it is the goal, and leave the puzzle one conversion short. Work one mechanism at a time, confirm each turns blue, and do a quick lap before you climb to verify none reverted. When the third turns blue, the central overhead mechanism unlocks.

With all three floor mechanisms blue, climb to the upper level of the central structure and find the newly unlocked overhead mechanism. Hit its center with a close-range palm strike. That powers the final stage and opens the floating platforms above you. Take the jumps slowly — this is the last real failure point, because it lands right after the puzzle logic when players relax and rush. Line up the camera before each jump, reach the top monolith, and activate it to complete the challenge and claim the Abyss artifact.

L3/LS activates; L2/LT + right stick detaches the battery. Trying to “L3+L2” the battery does nothing.Completing Vérité asséchée awards an Abyss artifact and reactivates the route onward to Déméniss / Éclat du Firmament — a teleporter there drops you at a crashed vessel in the Déméniss region. That is why this puzzle is a progression gate, not a side detour: it is a required link in the late Abyss chain. If you want the next step ready, line up the Éclat du Firmament puzzle guide before you teleport. For the Forgotten Altar hub it branches from, see the Forgotten Altar Abyssal Trial guide, and for what to do with the artifacts you collect, check the best Abyssal gear guide.
Dry Truth is stable once you read it correctly: enter from the Forgotten Altar, detach the south-wall battery, get all three floor mechanisms orange then blue, palm-strike the central mechanism, and ride the platforms to the top monolith. Nearly every failed clear is one of two errors — a mechanism left orange, or climbing before the floor is powered. Fix those and the route to Déméniss opens.
